DigitallyEngaged isn't a typical marketing agency. In fact, we're not an agency at all.

Started in 2012 as a way to help people understand the changing online marketing landscape, we're a marketing strategy and behavioural messaging consultancy. That means we focus on what to do and how to do it, leaving the delivery to our clients and partners.

Our first project over the London 2012 Olympics captured mainstream attention and, in just 6-short weeks, we delivered a campaign that reached more than 2.5m people, won fans and headlines around the world, and saw us awarded the silver medal in the BBC's “Social Media Olympics” - second only to the official @TeamGB campaign itself.

It's been ten years since then, and our approach to marketing - the Digital Engagement Framework™ - still underpins every strategy we design, every headline we win and every successful campaign we launch.
Our Mission
Back in 2012, we set out to do one thing - to help give people the skills and confidence they need to get the best from online marketing.

It's a mission that we're incredibly proud of and, if we're honest, one that surprises a lot of people - especially in the industry.

It's why we share our research and results. It's why we published the Digital Engagement Framework™. It's why we helped turn it into a City & Guilds Apprenticeship. It's why we're happy to guest on podcasts or take the stage. And it's why we're launching the #TeamDE Academy to help share what we've learned with as many people as we can.

Adam founded DigitallyEngaged in 2012 after a three year project looking at how psychology, behavioural economics and technology overlap and influence how people engaged with marketing.

Today Adam splits his time between campaign design, coaching clients and the launch of the upcoming #TeamDE Academy, and he speaks regularly about online marketing as a guest on podcasts and industry panels.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce (FRSA), and you can find him on LinkedIn and Medium where he writes about lessons he's learned over the past 20 years.

What makes DigitallyEngaged different?
There are three things worth mentioning - 1) we focus exclusively on our speciality - marketing strategy, 2) we have a unique approach to marketing which underpins all of our campaigns, and 3) our work is based on extensive first-hand research and testing.
What does your research cover?
Our work is built on four primary areas of research - traditional marketing, consumer psychology, behavioural economics and marketing technology.
Do you have an agency side?
Whilst we do a small amount of tactical work in-house, we don’t offer any traditional agency services. We believe the scope of marketing is too big for any one company to do everything to a high level, so we work with external partners who are able to offer a high level of expertise in their specific area of marketing.

Are you currently recruiting?
We are not currently recruiting. We update our LinkedIn profile with any job and/or consulting opportunities, so please follow us there if you’re interested in working with us.

It’s probably worth us mentioning that we do not work with recruitment consultants or agencies.
Can I book a speaker/guest?
Absolutely. We have a lot of experience in delivering keynotes/workshops/guest content and would love the chance to develop a proposal for you.

We’re also currently looking for opportunities to spread the word about our upcoming #TeamDE Academy launch. If your audience overlaps with ours (SME owners/marketers looking to design/manage a successful marketing campaign), we would likely support you for free.
Why do you not have social media?
One of the pieces of advice we give is that businesses need to focus on the right channels. As our own clients have been unlikely to come through social media, we have never invested in building out those channels.

However, our new #TeamDE Academy is being built to help SME owners and marketers, so we’ve launched new social media channels (@byTeamDE on all platforms). We’ll start to publish content through them in September.
